WinRAR Beta x64 is a file compression and storage utility that lets you process Roshal Archive-formatted packages. If you have a file that ends with the .RAR extension, then chances are good that you can use this app to open it. In many cases, it can open .REV files as well, which has made it a very popular option for those who download large containers of other files off the web.

Since it's relatively hard to detect the contents of a RAR archive and the compression ratio is usually quite good, these files are used to transfer data through file sharing sites. Normal OS-level ZIP inflate libraries can't handle them, but WinRAR manages them using a native GUI. While you won't have to rely on CLI-based tools to work with WinRAR, it does give power users the option to do so.

Since WinRAR now supports the x86_64 instruction set, you can take full advantage of modern CPUs to speed up the decompression process. Even archives that are several gigabytes in length can be disassembled in a relatively short period of time as a result of this optimization. If you're working with spanned archives that take up more than one single file, then you should still find that WinRAR's performance doesn't suffer all that much as a result.

Archives created with WinRAR include a series of redundant error correction data packets, which are known as recovery records. This can help you to reassemble a damaged archive if something unusual happens to it. SD card users who often deal with sudden disconnects will especially appreciate this feature.
